Electromagnetic Design Engineer
Job Description
Electromagnetic Design Engineer required would you like to work in clean-tech & have experience of Electrical Machines then read on.
You will work in a World Class Innovation Engineering Research Centre
For this you will be expected to deliver complex electrical machine design whilst collaborating and developing results that set these new products apart from others
Salary & Benefits
£50,000 and £60,000, company bonus, flexible working and core hours, this position is also offered with relocation assistance, pension, health care and life assurance
Responsibilities & Duties
- Generate new ideas for product improvement to the electromagnetic designs
- Proven experience of modelling & designing permanent magnetic motors
- Experience of using 2D & 3D FEA modelling & programming (Matlab or similar)
- Phd or Beng relevant work experience would be considered
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop high-designs
- Develop test and analyse motor designs and improvements
- Participate in collaborative project with universities and other related industries
- Up to 3 years or more relevant experience of working in a team environment
- Hands on experience of testing motors in a laboratory environment
- Ability to analysing and machine losses and improve results
- Demonstrate design are robust, cost effective and fit for purpose
- Defining appropriate manufacturing routes where required
- Simulate transient behaviour of electric drive systems & machines performance
