Mechanical Design Engineer

You will be expected to deliver electromechanical & mechanical design whilst collaborating and developing results & producing feasibility research to coincide with your designs.

Interfacing between teams to integrate mechanical & electromechanical parts and assemblies combined with great soft skills and the ability to communicate complex design are absolutely critical for achieving success in this position

Salary & Benefits

£40,000 to £52,000, private health care, five weeks holiday per year, pension, flexi-time,

Your primary focus will be on the electromagnetic and thermal design, analysis, optimising and testing; you will be empowered to take accountability for technical delivery, cost, timing and other key programme metrics within engineering development.

Sound knowledge of physics and mechanical engineering theory

Development and analysis of engineering solutions

Knowledge and application of product design processes

Create, communicate and present technical reviews and documentation

Teamwork and collaboration throughout all levels in the business

Self-motivate and work with a high level of autonomy

PC literate (Microsoft Apps, CAD, Cloud based systems, etc)

Excellent time management and task organisation

Knowledge of codes of conduct and ethical working

Skills & Abilities Required

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant engineering field

Applicable mechanical/electromechanical engineering experience

Utilisation of hand calculations and input from FEA in design

Utilisation of CAD and PLM systems (e.g. SolidWorks & EPDM)

Production and modification of components and assembly drawings in accordance with BS 8888, with detailed application of GD&T

Component testing and design of tests in accordance with relevant standards and requirements

Designing with and combining various materials and manufacturing techniques
