Manufacturing Lead Engineer, you will join a talented team, working alongside Research & Design, Operations, and Quality to develop, improve, and support the manufacturing processes and equipment in a leading world class manufacturing and engineering facility.
You'll promote a continuous improvement, culture, identifying opportunities for process improvement and championing Lean methodologies.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the volume production of our high-quality products in a safe environment. You will have a wide range of responsibilities, including daily production support, managing NPI tasks, inputting DFC & DFM ideas into projects, and maintaining manufacturing documentation.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- You will work on all stages of the manufacturing process with the Inclusion of senior stakeholders
- Input DFX thinking & Ideas into early design projects
- Ensure the upkeep of manufacturing production and processes with PFMEA, Process Flow etc
- Take ownership of the complete manufacturing and production process
- Previous experience of new product introduction
- Continually improve product process in order to meet new product development
- Act as the interface and between R&D, Manufacturing & Engineering
- Champion Lean Methodologies Including 6S, 8 Waste, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping etc
- Input all approved Information regarding prototype and modifications to existing products
- Previous production, process, continuous improvement experience
- Lean Six Sigma Principles - 7 wastes, Cause and Effect, DMAIC, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Poke-yoke, SMED, Pareto, 5S, Kanban.
- Understanding of Digital Manufacturing technologies, SAP ME, MR technology etc (nice to haves)
Requirements for this position:
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Quality / Manufacturing Engineering
- Lean Six Sigma Principles - 7 wastes, Cause and Effect, DMAIC, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Poke-yoke, SMED, Pareto, 5S, Kanban.
- Knowledge of production documentation- PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plans, SOP’s, Work Instructions, Mechanical Schematics & Pneumatic Drawings, Layouts etc
- Previous production, process, continuous improvement experience
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Quality / Manufacturing Engineering (nice to have)
- Yellow / Green Belt certification
- A knowledge of 3D design packages (specifically inventor) and ERP systems
