You will be expected to deliver complex electromechanical & mechanical design solutions whilst collaborating and developing results that set the product road map within the business.

Interfacing between teams to integrate electromechanical assemblies into the mechanical envelope, combined with great soft skills and the ability to communicate complex design are absolutely critical for achieving success in this position

Salary & Benefits

£50,000 to £70,000, private health care, five weeks holiday per year, pension, flexi-time and relocation assistance & up to 15% bonus


Your primary focus will be on the electromagnetic and thermal design, analysis, optimising and testing; you will be empowered to take accountability for technical delivery, cost, timing and other key programme metrics within engineering development.

Performing hand calculations and/or finite element analyses of dynamic and static systems, Discussing and resolving technically complex problems with manufacturers, suppliers, customers

Preparing and presenting designs for review to pass through a gated development processProducing feasibility studies with accompanying designs based on sound engineering principlesEstimating and managing the delivery of tasks and projects to associated timelines

Skills & Abilities Required

Creating and refining mechanical and electromechanical parts and assemblies, as well as drawings to capture design intent and key characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in relevant engineering field
  • Applicable mechanical/electromechanical engineering experience
  • Hand calculations and input from FEA in design with detailed application of GD&T
  • Extensive utilisation of CAD Solidworks or similar and PLM systems
  • Production and modification of components and assembly drawings in accordance with BS 8888,
  • Component testing and design of tests in accordance with relevant standards and requirements
  • Designing with and combining various materials and manufacturing techniques
  • Designing with and combining various materials and manufacturing techniques
  • High powered electric and batteries and motors experience
  • Development of designs for prototype, low and high-volume applications
